Therapeutic Foster Boarding Home
[display_breadcrumb]
The Therapeutic Foster Boarding Home Program (TFBH) provides clinical, academic, and behavioral support services to youth placed in foster care through either Suffolk or Nassau County in Long Island.
The TFBH program promotes healing and growth for children and adolescents facing disruption within their family unit. The TFBH program’s philosophy is that all youth placed in foster care can better overcome their challenges and achieve success if they have a stable, nurturing home environment and healthy parent-child relationships.
Services provided by the TFBH program include:
- Case management
- Academic and behavioral support
- Daily connections and independent living skill-building
- Psychotherapy
- Medical case management
- Psychiatric care
Services are offered in-home and are provided by a multidisciplinary team of staff and professionals.
The primary members of the TFBH treatment team are the foster families who open their hearts and homes to youth in need. Therapeutic foster parents are provided with additional trainings and certifications. They also work closely with the TFBH staff and professionals to develop a solid parent-child relationship and to foster success for the children and young adults in their care.
Please note that Little Flower’s TFBH is a separate program from Enhanced Family Foster Care. Enhanced Family Foster Care is the new name for foster care in New York City. Every foster home will receive the training needed to become a therapeutic foster home to meet the needs of children coming into care with complex trauma.
