Kerri Smith, JD, LMSW

Chief Operating Officer

Kerri Smith is the Chief Operating Officer for Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York.  She is responsible for supporting the operational growth and stability of the organization, managing strategic initiatives, and overseeing risk and legal matters.

With almost 20 years of human services experience, Kerri is dedicated to improving services for children and families.  She is passionate about supporting teams to deliver the highest quality services and implement innovative strategies by optimizing organizational functioning and managing with data.  Prior to joining Little Flower, as a Senior Associate with the Annie E Casey Foundation, Kerri worked with state and local child welfare leaders across the country to improve policies and practices focused on child safety and well-being.  In addition, Kerri served as an Associate Commissioner with New York City’s Administration for Children’s Services for six years. There she oversaw performance monitoring and led the development of strategic plans and new initiatives to improve system-wide performance.

Kerri holds a law degree from South Texas College of Law and is admitted to the New York Bar. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in social work from the University of Texas, where she was awarded the Dean’s Award for the Promotion of Social Justice for her organizing and advocacy work on social justice issues.
